News About Products Reatailer Events Contact Digital-only                     Echo Romeo - Your Tears (12" 180 gram vinyl, reissue) Max Holler, a Berlin-based singer and musician founded Echo Romeo in the early 80s and later the Atlantic Popes, which himself considers his main project together with Bernhard Lloyd (from Alphaville). In those years Max's dream was to direct films and create music videos but, according to his statements, the equipment for it was way too expensive. Therefore, after meeting Jürgen Erdmann from Düsseldorf, Echo Romeo and the first and only single "Your Tears" were born. The Wall was still there and Jürgen had insanely adventurous car journeys to reach Berlin, precisely the Tritonus Studio where they recorded the masterpiece. But, despite everything and everyone, the title track "Your Tears" is one of the most seminal examples of robotic synth-wave we've ever heard with a driving bass that blows you away, mixed with a pulsating soul and lyrics that are pure poetry. On the B-side, we find "Dreams" and the same kind of atmosphere but, drastically pitched down and with a splash of jazz that is Max's first love. The fully remastered reissue comes courtesy of Max Holler via the new Kings Of Harmony imprint.           Zero Origin - New Life (12" reissue) Following on La Bella Di Notte is a repress we are very proud of. Zero Origin, one of Nathanael Heres' monikers, techno music geek, and producer plus headliners behind Urban Sound Of Amsterdam, as well as the owner himself of Upcult Records, a tight but super sharp label from the mid-nineties, born in the backstreets of the Dutch capital. The original record here is "New Life". Last on the market as Zero Origin, but perhaps the finest on his chest. Three exciting tracks chase each other in a rhythmic crescendo and increasingly hypnotic decorations are ready to set on fire both the main room of bigger clubs and intimate dance floors of a smoky underground party. Forbidden to sleep.           Sweetness - If We Will Take The Time (12" reissue) Written and produced by Richard Misseijer and Jos Soethout (RIP) the two original songs were performed by the Dutch disco trio Sweetness. Released in 1982 is the perfect embodiment of timeless soul-boogie, quickly becoming essential for Radio and the finest DJs and later one of the genre's rarest records. The producing duo was prominently featured on the cult imprint Rams Horn, set up as a fellow US importer of outputs such as Brunswick and Prelude. The official reissue remastered from the original source comes courtesy of Richard Misseijer himself on the baby bird Emilian-Neapolitan label Baba Records.           Beroshima - Untitled (12" reissue) The first ever cut on the seminal and stellar German record label Acid Orange, owned by Beroshima himself, aka Frank Muller. An absolute masterpiece of intelligent dance music that with its over thirty total minutes opens up wide spaces of pure listening and lays the foundations for the development of what will soon be recognized as minimal techno. But above all it is a political record that frames delicate social issues and carries a clear message of how music and art in general stands against all forms of occupation and repression.
